Reflection of the Beast
Panic, flows deep, running beneath cold skin
Eyes, freeze open, as knees meet the floor
Slowly, you’re choking, and the air pulls tight
It burns, through your lungs, as you shiver in fright
Say now, what’s wrong?
Why so afraid?
I’ve only just showed you, the scars that you’ve made
Are they not to your liking, now once they’ve healed?
No longer, not bleeding, the flesh which was peeled
Do you wish I had sheltered your mind from this pain?
Or rathered I suffered, alone in vain?
How selfish you are, my dastardly devil
And cruel to be sure, as you watched me wallow
In this filthy mess of a broken cage, you have become fuel for my blackening rage
And no matter the words you use to appease
You will never escape the jaws of this beast
For it feeds on your each and every strain, and drinks like wine, from the depths of your shame
And slowly it grows, stronger and stronger
As it rips through your body in ravenous hunger
Tell me now, as I stare in wonder
What has, will become, of you…most pitiful monger
