Video Recitation: INSPIRATION

Coming at you all again with another recitation of another of my early works: Inspiration.
The title says it all. I hope you like! ^-^ Commentary and criticism is always much appreciated.

My ego likes being stroked and beaten (the little masochist).

Video Recitation: ODE TO TIME

Here's to another video. I hope you all like. I edited it and put it out ASAP to make up for the previous period of inactivity.

Video Recitation: HEART

And we're live! Sorry for the wait, more to be rolled out very soon since I've stopped being slow with the blogger vids. *insert sheepish laugh*

I couldn't quite figure out if it would play once published due to certain...issues..., and I've been bidding (rather wasting) my time fooling around with the posts. My apologies. It should never happen again.

I hope you all enjoy seeing this as much as I did making it.

My Substitute Lover

My substitute lover, there could be no other, so quick as you to rob another

Of a useless heart, all broken and beat, that’s been trod upon by countless feet

My substitute lover, I’ll never meet, you elsewhere alone, but in discreet

Away from prying, lying eyes, which see not past our love’s disguise

Writing us off as fools in lust, without a single shred of trust
In something more which surely must, lie between all those of us

Who play this game of lovelorn lust, and bury our hearts to rust and dust

Inside a chest all locked up tight, with keys long lost and out of sight

My substitute lover, you fight and fight, to chain me fast, with all your might

And force me back into the light, which has been lost within this night

Filled with moons and stars alike, which keep us out of harsher sights

That do so burn to tear apart, this love we’ve built within the dark

My substitute lover, I’ll never find, another like you, to be just mine

And so, I’ll waste away with time, and simply hold on to this lifeline

You have cast forth with me in mind, and pray you’ll catch me one more time

Before I drift on down the line, away from you, in all good time

The Cruelty of You

The cruelty of you lies in the way, you rip my heart, and then you play

With every little jagged piece, and never care, but in the least

To see the way your fingers burn, and hear the words which make me yearn

To hold you close and keep away, the other hearts which all may lay

At your feet to knock you down, and steal away your precious crown

Which sits with pride upon your head, and keeps all love from your cold bed

The cruelty of you, is what I hate, which forces me to wait and wait

For you to bring the walls all down, and let me love you deep and sound

The cruelty of you is what I fear, will leave me always standing here

Like some lost and tragic bird, which cannot fly and cries unheard

By the one who holds the key, that maybe just can set it free

And loose the chains of bitter fate, which force us each to wait and wait

The cruelty of you is what I love, that keeps me hanging, far above

The traps all waiting to crush my heart

And tear me, limb from limb, apart

Love's Blight and Plight

I am the poison, coursing through your veins

The unnoticed balm, shielding you from the pain

You take for granted, my measure of use

And try, but fail, to call a truce

Between your warring heart and head

Fighting the loss of reason, you do so dread

Could it be denial that cools your bed, and blocks your heart from me instead?

Or perchance you simply fear to burn, for such a one, you should not yearn

To see, to touch, to taste, to please

You’d sooner beg upon your knees

To stop this growing bitter bruise, which spreads the more as you refuse;
to open yourself to this great bane, and absolve your mind from its refrain

You long to join your heart and brain, to stop this flowing, breadth of pain

But say I, shall not restrain, my own black heart from this great flame

And for you alone, I’ll gladly burn

And crash, and fall, and love, and yearn

Until my poison dies away, in this cage you’ll always stay

Beneath my ever watchful eye, and never will I let you fly

Mother

Beautiful she is, a vision to hold

This mother of mine, more precious than gold

I love her so, this much is true

And wish her life, till death comes due

It matters not, her debt of sin

I’ll still love her, until the end

And if the world, at once should fall

I will love her, best of all

Thrill Seeker

She chases the wind, moving on impulse

She throws reason in her closet and doesn’t look back

Her madness runs deep, she wears it with pride

And if asked what she’s after, just another fast ride

Most fail to understand, her inconstant nature

Or her relentless hunger, for the face of danger

But few do watch, in sympathy for her plight

And few do long, for a taste of her life

She is a creature unchained by habit

And she lives the dream of a freedom addict

Wishes of the Hopeless Dreamer

Tell me a story filled with romance
Give me a tragedy steeped in history

Bind me a book soaked in lies,
show me a prince covered with thorns

Tell me the world is full of mysteries; give me the edge of a star

Send me on a journey to the moon
Bring me the sun and break the sky

Write me an ocean filled with words...
and drown me with love beneath the waves

Infectious

He’s like a bad habit

A painful disease

Festering in my soul, rotting me from the outside in

The thought of him sickens me

Makes me hot and cold

Gives me shivers and makes me weak,

Causes me to forget to breathe

He is the worst kind of drug, a mixture of sensuality and grace

I can’t deny his power

His charms are dangerous

To resist him would be futile, for already he’s beneath the skin

He’s an infectious menace I’ll never be rid of,

And a truly unredeemable sin

Too Cheesy

You come easy, like a midsummer’s breeze

Blowing me back and forth between mountains and hills

Your face has been etched into my mind

A single point on a white-washed wall

I can’t look away, you’re always there

Even when I beg you to go, you ignore my plea

Oh…why must you make this so hard on me?

Don’t you see?

This can never be

Whatever this really may be

Oh...I can see; but still you remain,
blind unmovable stone

Should I then let it be, and simply walk away?

Should I leave you behind and ignore your unwavering heart?

Oh…if only it were that easy

And look now…oh, this is by far

Too cheesy

Inspiration

It comes and goes like the wind

Breathing into the flames of hearts, sparking wildfires to consume the soul

Sometimes it is gentle, soft in coercion

Other times it is violent, giving birth to madness

A friend to many

A foe to few

It is the foundation of beginnings

The creator of ends
